Gang Gang Rupture!

Dj /Rupture is super dope and has insane knowledge of music and technical savvy has a producer. He, along with Matt Shadetek (equally dope) remixed Bebey by Gang Gang Dance. Both the original and the remix are amazing. Here's a link to download the Rupture/Shadetek remix and a sweet youtube video of a performance by Gang Gang Dance. (Also check out Rupture's podcast Mudd Up.)

Poirier Sound

Ghislain Poirier has been killin hard these days with some serious soca bangers. Here's a more dancehall riddim remix he did for Busy Signal. Real dope. A good interview as well.

Wine, let me see your profile!

Another joint from Januaryish still on the charts (Number 14 on the Soca charts) is "Fly Away" by Machel Montano ft. Collie Budz. Really dope. Romantic soca reggae style.

Machel Montano ft. Collie Budz - Fly Away

Still at the top to romp

So this track from Vybz Kartel and Spice is kinda old (like January or something), but I was checkin the top 30 Dancehall charts in Jamaica and New York, and on certain charts, its still number one! I thought, what the hey, throwback post. Besides this joint is super sexy. Here's the video for the original and a DL link for the shittier remake they had to do cause of copyright. Read more about it on heatwave.(I'm assuming that the number 1 is the original with the Ne-yo beat)

Heres a link to an interesting article about how the said song is debasing women and how "badmanism and daggering" is hurting Jamaican culture. They are tryin to ban certain songs now. Jamaican Researcher

Pura Vida; Suiza de Centroamerica.

It's summer and it's hot as hell right now, so I've been searchin out some good time summer jamzzz. Seeing as how I lived in Costa Rica which has a super summer vibe all the time and is "pura vida" I thought I'd start there. It wasn't as successful of a search as I had planned. I spent some time some time in Limon and that place is off the chains and all about the riddims, dance hall, and roots, but I couldnt find any of the bangerzz on the interwebs that I grew to love. I guess there too chilled out and havin such a good time they dont care to put their stuff on the internet. (im gonna make a call to some homies down there and some jamzz for later) But in the meantime, here is a Costa Rican hip hopper, (as the call them down there) with an oldie sumer time rap jam. (Castillo is his name, but I think he goes by Kingstar now)

Plus a hip hop group from Brazil I think, with a sweet samba/hip hop feel rapping about Costa Rica. (I think, my Portugese isnt up to par, but I swear he says Costa Rica Pura Vida either way its dope)

The Very Best

One of the most exciting and interesting team producers right now is most definitely Radioclit. Their mixtape last year, The Very Best ft. Esua Mwamwaya, was one of my favorites. Esua singing over MIA, Vampire Weekend, and even Michael Jackson (the free willey song no less!) was an awesome world pop dance collage. Radioclit and Esua now have a new album with all original songs. Super dope!! They will be playin at the Echo Plex tomorrow here in LA so come on out and boogie.

BANG IT OUT!!

My other blog, superflously necessary, got all mashed up with music, politics, reviews, and random rants. I decided to start a new blog dedicated to music, dance, and culture. I'm leavin the politcal, Ron Paul lovin, new world order exposin, imperialism hatin entries to the other blog. Without further adu, let the music begin.
Nguzungu is a dj/producer duo based here in LA. Their music ranges from punta, to soca, to ghetto tech, all the way to r&b. Nguzunguzu just did a punta track with Maluca and it is getting some serious play these days. This couple is great to see live, often with their good homie Total Freedom, and they're super fun to eat tacos with. Here's a video they did for their flashing lights remix. check it and wine out.
